The Annual Cultural Day on 7th February was a very important day in the school calendar. Students from the secondary section from classes V to XII were given an opportunity to show case their talents in front of a big audience. Shri. Deepak Bhimani, Trustee, BKHMC Trust graced the evening as Chief Guest. Director Major General Deepak Saxena and his good lady also graced the function. Mr.Hanif Patni, actor and senior actor-director from Ekjute Theatre group and Ms. Vandana Sengupta founder of Viva Voice Academy were invited to judge and encourage the budding artists. Special invites for the programme included former Bursar Mr. Modh and parents who were active members of the APT in the yester years. Mst. Nikunj Padaya and Ms. Gayatri Gunjal were the hosts for the evening.
The student groups performed various folk dances from around India like Garba from Gujarat, Bhumro from Kashmir, Brijki Holi from U.P., Gotipua from Orissa and Dindi from Maharashtra and to top it all was a performances fired with nationalism and patriotism. A street play in Hindi brought out the need to save environment highlighting various programmes created by humans and suggesting remedies for the same. Mst. Farhaan Moulvi and Ms.Harsha Waghela were adjudged the Best Actors and Brijki Holi performance was adjudged the Best Dance.
Sports and athletics have been an integral part of personality development training being imparted at HMPS. Keeping up this tradition, this year too, HMPS organized the 77th Annual Athletic Meet with enthusiasm on 19th December 2019. Shri D.D.Udeshi, Chairman of the BKHMC Trust graced the function as Chief Guest and Trustee, Shri Deepak Bhimani was the Guest of Honour. The meet commenced with the ceremonial parade being led by the School Captain followed by the different houses proudly displaying their colours and holding their standards high. The School Captain administered the Oath. The various interschool teams competing at the State and the National competitions too marched across. The Chief Guest released balloons as a symbolic gesture of inauguration of the meet.
Up next was the welcome display by the primary section. The students in their colourful attire regaled one and all with their gracefulmoves. The secondary section students fascinated all with their Judo and Karate display. The event also included Archery display and the finals of the previously held elimination rounds of various track events including the 80 mts, 100mts and 200mts racesfor different categories. The Lezim display and the Tug- of- War by the Seniors’ were the show stoppers for the evening.The Chief Guest then addressed the audience. He congratulated the school team on their success and encouraged parents to promote their children to participate in sports activities. The event concluded with the distribution of Trophies and Shields for various inter-house games and sports.
